PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of Plymouth State College’s women’s soccer players has been selected to play in the New England Intercollegiate Senior Bowl.
Defender Mary Young (Rockland, Mass.) will join the Division III squad for the game, which is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 19th at Boston University (11a.m.)
Young, a co-captain, was the key at the back for PSC this year, starting every game at sweeper. She led by example with some tough tackling and sweeping long
balls from defense. She also showed her attacking capabilities by posting four assists this season. In a four-year career, Young recorded five goals and four assists, one
of which came in her last game for the Panthers.
Young is a three-time selection to the Little East All-Conference Team and was an All-New England pick in 1998.
Young was instrumental in PSC posting a 10-8-2 mark this year as well as making its 17th post-season appearance in the last 18 years.
This is the second straight year PSC has been represented in the Senior All-Star game. Last year Plymouth State was represented by forward Tara Dickson.
