PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The slow recovery of field conditions at Plymouth State University has forced the rescheduling of several varsity athletic events this week.
The PSU softball doubleheader against Fitchburg State College, slated for Wednesday, Apr. 6, has been moved back a day and will take place Thursday, Apr. 7, at D&M Park (4:00 p.m.). The Panthers will also host Eastern Connecticut State University in their first Little East Conference games of the season this Saturday (1:00 p.m.). In addition, the LEC twinbill that was rained out last weekend at UMass Dartmouth has been rescheduled for this Sunday, Apr. 10, in North Dartmouth, Mass.
The Panther women’s lacrosse game vs. Southern Maine scheduled for Wednesday, Apr. 6, has been postponed, and rescheduled for Sunday, Apr. 24. In addition, Saturday’s Little East Conference affair against Eastern Connecticut has changed locations, with the two teams meeting at 3:00 p.m. in Willimantic, Conn., rather than at PSU. The Panthers hope to play their home opener next Tuesday, Apr. 12, against Colby College at Arold Field (4:00 p.m.)
The men’s lacrosse contest against Southern Maine, slated for Wednesday, Apr. 6 at Panther Field, has been postponed and rescheduled for Sunday, Apr. 24. The Panthers will return to action Saturday with an LEC contest at Eastern Connecticut (4:00 p.m.), and plan to host Keene State in the home opener next Wednesday, Apr. 13, at Panther Field.
PSU’s home baseball games this week, Wednesday (Apr. 6) against arch rival Keene State (3:30 p.m.), Thursday (Apr. 7) against non-conference Becker College (3:30 p.m.), and Saturday vs. LEC foe UMass Dartmouth (1:00 p.m.), will go on as scheduled. In addition, the twinbill that was rained out last Sunday against Saint Joseph’s College, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 26, in Standish, Maine.
