A newly renovated Plymouth State University Bookstore celebrated its Grand Opening Sept.16. Prior to a ribbon cutting ceremony, Provost Dr. Julie Bernier praised the bookstore’s new vendor, Follett Company, for their efforts in offering a much wider variety of merchandise, including used textbooks, and offering more than $37,000 in textbook scholarships to PSU students. Follett vice president David Klein and store manager Steve Rheaume both thanked the University for its continued support and guidance during Follett’s first year at PSU.
The 3,500 square-foot space has been reconfigured to offer a more spacious layout, according to Rheaume, who said Follett spent more than $200,000 in the renovation. The store features new paint, carpeting, lighting, seating and electrical fixtures. The store also opened a new art supply section and doubled the school supply section, as well as adding to the book sections.
