PSU Dance Ensemble Warms Up the Holidays

Plymouth, N.H.—The Plymouth State University student Contemporary Dance Ensemble (CDE) will present an eclectic evening of dance in numerous styles at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, December 3 and 4 in Hanaway Theatre at the Silver Center for the Arts.

Student works have been choreographed by Jessica Martin, a junior early childhood studies major from Pembroke, Mass., Marissa McNutt, a senior childhood studies major from Gilford and Sara Hamilton a senior criminal justice major, dance minor, from Atkinson.

Faculty members Lois Hanks, Aaron Tolson, Lisa Travis, Lenore Sousa and Amanda Whitworth have choreographed works in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and tap dance for the program.

The program also includes works directed by Tara Holmes performed by guest dancers from Colby Sawyer College.

As a special holiday treat, the Ninth State Youth Dance Theatre and Orchestra will preview their upcoming holiday production of The Nutcracker.
