BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Plymouth State University came out on the short end of both pool play matches Friday night at the BSC Volleyball Open, hosted by Bridgewater State College.
The Panthers were victims of Johnson & Wales University in four games in the first match (30-25, 30-20, 27-30, 30-22). PSU came back with another tough match against Elmira, again falling in four games (31-29, 30-26, 22-30, 30-28). Plymouth State falls to 10-5 overall this season.
PSU will play in the Bronze Bracket on Saturday at the BSC Open, facing Clark University at 10:00 a.m. and Rhode Island College at 12 noon. Clark was defeated twice on Friday by Bridgewater State and Conn. College, and RIC was upended by both Rivier College and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Bridgewater State, Johnson & Wales and Rivier will battle it out in the Gold Bracket, while Conn. College, Elmira and Fairleigh Dickinson are in the Silver Bracket.
