Mauer is considered an expert and leading authority on racism in the criminal justice system. He has written extensively and testified before Congress and other legislative bodies on the social costs of incarceration. Mauer’s presentation, ‘Incarceration Nation,’ will examine the causes and consequences of the historic rise in the use of imprisonment in the U.S. over the past three decades.
The Sidore Lecture Series featuring Marc Mauer will be held Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in
Smith Recital Hall at the Silver Cultural Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
