MANSFIELD, Conn. – Seniors Lilly Silva (Lowell, Mass.) and Katie Kovacs (Hampton, N.H.) scored two goals apiece Saturday afternoon as Plymouth State University defeated Eastern Connecticut State University, 5-2, in a Little East Conference field hockey game.

Freshman Summer Spellman (Wethersfield, Conn.) scored the only Eastern goal of the half, the first of her career, to cut the margin to 2-1 by halftime.
Kovacs extended PSU’s lead to 3-1 six minutes into the second half, assisted by junior Christina Farias (East Dennis, Mass.), and Kovacs scored again seven minutes later.
The Warriors responded with an unassisted goal by freshman Jaime Seligmann (Sherman, Conn.), her second goal of the season. Silva rounded out the scoring for PSU with her LEC-leading 17th of the season.
