Entrepreneur magazine named Plymouth State University one of its Top 100 Entrepreneurial Colleges and Universities in the magazine’s April 2005 issue. The Third Annual Top 100 list honors colleges and universities that offer exceptional entrepreneurial education programs.
Plymouth State University has offered courses in small business and entrepreneurship for many years. Four years ago, the Department of Graduate Studies and Community Outreach established a certificate program in Small Business and Entrepreneurship designed for small business owners and managers or future entrepreneurs. The program focuses on the steps and processes of starting a new venture and ensuring its success. Entrepreneurship students at PSU also get the opportunity to work with the University’s award-winning Small Business Institute® (SBI) as members of consulting teams for local businesses.
“Small business is a real strength of our business department and curriculum. This is appropriate since most of the businesses in New Hampshire, and the nation for that matter, are considered ‘small,’” said MBA Advisor/SBI Director Craig Zamzow.
