PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A sophomore forward on the Plymouth State University men’s ice hockey team has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for his efforts in two Panther victories last week.
Sophomore Topo LaCroix (Moretown, Vt.) was named to the ECAC Northeast Conference Weekly Honor Roll. He has helped PSU to a 9-6-1 record on the season, including a perfect 7-0-0 mark in the Northeast.
A 5’9”, 165-pound forward, LaCroix (left) helped lead PSU to a 2-0-0 record for the week in a pair of conference games, tallying three goals and one assist, including a game-winner. He notched a goal and an assist in last Wednesday’s 6-3 win at Southern New Hampshire, and added two goals in PSU’s dramatic 5-4 home victory over Assumption on Saturday. Both his scores against the Ice Dogs came during PSU’s four-goal, third-period rally, including the game-winner with 1:43 remaining in regulation.
LaCroix, who finished his freshman season with three goals and six assists in 25 games, is fifth on the team in scoring this season with eight goals and four assists in 16 contests.
Plymouth State has two key ECAC Northeast Conference home games coming up – Saturday against Wentworth and Tuesday (Jan. 31) vs. Curry. Wentworth, Curry, PSU and UMass Dartmouth have been the top teams in the league through the first half of the schedule.
