PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer on the Plymouth State University men’s ice hockey team has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for his efforts in two Panther victories last week.
Junior Goose LaCroix (Moretown, Vt.) was named ECAC Northeast Conference Player of the Week Tuesday after leading the Panthers to a pair of victories. He also received the honor back in December, and is the only two-time recipient in the league this season.
A 5’8”, 170-pound forward, LaCroix finished the week with three goals and three assists in two games, leading the Panthers to a pair of conference road victories. He scored two goals and two assists in PSU’s 8-4 win Wednesday at Suffolk, and added a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 5-2 win at Fitchburg State, including the game-winning goal.
LaCroix, who finished last season with seven goals and six assists, is the team’s leading scorer this season with 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points. He is tied for sixth in the league in goals scored and tied for second in game-winning goals (4).
Plymouth State, 12-8-1 overall and 10-2-0 in league play, has three ECAC Northeast Conference games remaining, beginning Wednesday (Feb. 15) at Waterville Valley Arena against Granite State foe Franklin Pierce (6:00 p.m.)
