BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Brad Wyman (Manchester, N.H./Oyster River H.S.) netted a goal and a pair of assists Saturday afternoon to lead the Plymouth State University men’s soccer team to a 4-0 Little East Conference victory over the University of Massachusetts Boston at the Clark Athletic Center.
PSU senior keeper Brad Wilby (Haddonfield, N.J.) stopped seven shots to post his third consecutive shutout and his fifth in the last six games. The Panthers improve to 6-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play, while UMB drops to 6-2 and 0-2.
Wyman assisted on PSU’s second goal of the afternoon when he found junior Lindsay Chapman (Rye, N.H.) with 1:08 remaining in the first half. Wyman added a goal at 54:53 of the second half, finishing off a cross from senior Nick Libera (Cromwell, Conn.) to give the Panthers a 3-0 advantage. Sophomore Chris Catatao (Burlington, Mass.) finished off the scoring with the final goal at 67:44, with Wyman recording the assist.
Freshman Felix Rosen (Stockholm, Sweden) opened the scoring for the Panthers when Libera fed him with just 3:48 gone in the first half.
UMB senior keeper Michael Tady (Coal Valley, Ill.) stopped five shots in the UMB net.
Plymouth State, ranked #10 in New England, returns to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game at Bates. UMB travels to Salem State on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
