PSU Sports Information Director Honored

Longtime Plymouth State University Sports Information Director Kent Cherrington has received two prestigious honors.

At the Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA) Annual Workshop in June in Oneonta, N.Y., Cherrington became the organization’s President. He is in his seventh year on the Board of Directors of ECAC-SIDA, a 52-year-old, 700-member organization of Sports Information professionals.

In addition, Cherrington was elected to the Board of Directors of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) at its Annual Workshop in July in Nashville, Tenn. He is one of 18 members on CoSIDA’s national Board of Directors, and has been a member of the 50-year-old, 2,000-member organization since 1984.

Cherrington, a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, is in his 13th year as Sports Information Director at Plymouth State, and his 22nd year in the Sports Information profession.
