Plymouth, N.H. — At approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday, 10 Plymouth Sate University students traveling in a private vehicle were involved in a car accident on Route 3, south of Plymouth. One student, Kelly Nester, 20, of Coventry, R.I., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other nine students suffered varying degrees of injuries and were treated and released from Speare Memorial Hospital. They are Shannon McNally, 20, Litchfield; Jamie Plichta, 18, Bedford; Valerie Levine, 18, Nashua; Nicole Dalton, 20, Rochester; Nicole Little, 22, Londonderry; Angela Bergeron, 21, Hooksett; Olivia Lucca, 22, Manchester, Maine; Brittany Hilton, 18, North Berwick, Maine and Heather Haigh, 21, Ridgfield, Conn.
The accident is being investigated by the Plymouth Police and New Hampshire State Police. A criminal investigation is looking into rumors of hazing by members of an unauthorized sorority, Sigma Kappa Omega, that is not a Plymouth State organization.
A campus memorial was held on Monday, October 27. Her funeral mass was held Friday, October 24 at the St. John & Paul Parish in Coventry, R.I.
