PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University’s Arold Field will be the site of the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women’s Lacrosse Tournament Championship game this Sunday (May 15).
The second-seeded Panthers (12-5) will host fourth-seeded Keene State College (10-8) on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. PSU reached the title game with a 19-5 win Friday afternoon over the third-seeded University of New England, while KSC advanced with a 19-13 upset victory Saturday evening at top-seeded Endicott College. The highest remaining seed after the semifinals was designated as the host of the championship game.
Sunday’s championship game will be the third meeting of the season between the two Granite State and Little East Conference rivals. PSU won the regular season contest on Apr. 14 at Keene, 13-5, and downed the Owls last Friday in Plymouth in the semifinals of the LEC Tournament, 16-5.
This is Plymouth State’s fourth appearance in the ECAC post-season tournament. PSU first participated in the event in 1984, and then competed in 2002 and 2003, winning the championship in 2003. The Panthers also made NCAA Tournament appearances in 2000, 2001, and 2004.
