The January 9 recognition ceremony was sponsored by the ESGR, and in presenting the award, Jim Goss, Executive Director of the NH ESGR Committee, said PSU has been a longtime supporter of uniformed military members.

“This organization has demonstrated its support by the policies and programs that they offer,” said Goss. “Most recently, their Alumni Association was instrumental in drafting a design for a campus Veterans Memorial, and hosting a public ceremony for its unveiling last spring. This memorial stands as a visible tribute to all the student-veterans who have passed through their hallowed halls.”

PSU’s Dean of Student Affairs, Tim Keefe, said PSU has always fostered a positive relationship with students, staff and faculty who serve their country.

“Our University motto is ‘Ut Prosim’, That I May Serve,” Keefe said. “All our military are living that motto, and it is our duty to serve them in return. Whether by assisting students or staff who are mobilized, aiding veterans returning to higher education, or recognizing current and past veterans with our new Veterans Commons. We are certainly pleased to be recognized for these efforts, but it will continue to be our proud service members who deserve the accolades.”

Jim Goss is a PSU alumnus, as well as a military veteran. He graduated in 1968.
