PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer and rebounder on the Plymouth State University women’s basketball team received All-Little East Conference recognition Tuesday with the announcement of the 2004-05 LEC All-Star Teams.
Senior forward Lauren Devereaux (Hope Valley, R.I.) was voted onto the All-LEC Second Team in balloting by the league’s eight head coaches. She was the top player on the Panther team that finished with a 9-16 overall record and a 5-9 conference mark.
A 5’10” forward, Devereaux worked to become one of the top players in the conference. She led PSU with 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting a team-best 49.1 percent from the field. She ranked ninth in the conference in scoring and rebounding, and finished second in field goal percentage. Devereaux also earned recognition last month with her selection to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team.
Devereaux showed dramatic improvement over her career. After scoring only 22 points in 44 minutes as a freshman and 73 points her sophomore season, Devereaux was third on the team with 220 points last season and the team leader this year with 269 points.
The Panthers, who were eliminated by Keene State in the first round of the LEC Tournament, concluded the season with a 9-16 overall record.
