PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the starting forwards on the Plymouth State University women’s basketball team was honored Monday by being named to the Little East Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career.
Junior Kaitlin Linehan (South Boston, Mass./Savio Prep) earned the weekly recognition Monday for her efforts in a pair of PSU games last week. She is the fifth different Panther this season to be recognized with a weekly honor.
A 5’9” forward, Linehan (left) led PSU in scoring in both games last week, averaging 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds as PSU went 1-1 for the week. She shot 52.6 percent from the field (10-of-19) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (4-of-6). She managed seven points in Tuesday’s LEC loss to #1-ranked Southern Maine, and put up a season-high 18 points and game-high eight rebounds in Saturday’s conference victory at UMass Boston.
A starter in 20 of 22 games this season, Linehan is fourth on the team in scoring with 8.3 points per game and the team leader in rebounds (5.6 per game). She ranks 10th in the LEC in rebounds and 12th in field goal percentage (42.3).
