PSU Women’s Skiers finished fifth at National Championships

WINTER PARK, Colo. – The United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association’s National Championships continued on Friday with the slalom race, and Plymouth State University finished in seventh place in the slalom and in the combined results they ended in fifth place out of the 19 schools.
Sierra Nevada College won the event, with PSU’s regular season division rival Boston College in second and Rocky Mountain College in third place, Colby-Sawyer in fourth and Brown in fifth.
The combined results had Sierra Nevada as the National Champion, followed by Boston College as the runner-up and Colby-Sawyer finishing third, Rocky Mountain in fourth and Plymouth State in fifth place.
Junior Melissa Caflisch (Clymer, N.Y.) finished in fifth place overall in the combined results. Caflish finished seventh in the slalom race while freshman Alyssa Deane (Casper, Wyo.) ended in 25th out of the 101 racers. Junior Kara Marvelli (Franconia, N.H.) came in with a 29th place, while junior Meaghann McKenney (Hubbardston, Mass.) finished 34th.
The championships will finish Saturday with the men’s slalom race.
