PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Bentley College won 12 of the 16 events Saturday and posted a 161-125 victory over Plymouth State University in a women’s swimming and diving meet at the PSU Natatorium.
The visiting Falcons improve to 3-2 in dual meets this season, while the Panthers drop to 2-3.
The highlight of the meet for Plymouth State was provided in the diving events, where PSU finished 1-2-3. Seniors Krit Kearins (Andover, Mass.) led the way, winning both the one-meter and three-meter events, breaking her own school record on the low board with a score of 236.35 and posting a score of 238.85 on the high board. Classmates Becky Huntington (Hampstead, N.H.) and Jenna Crescenzi (Killingworth, Conn.) finished second and third on both boards, respectively.
The only other Panthers to collect victories were senior Annabelle Winters (Chester, N.H.) in the 1,000 yard freestyle (12 minutes, 14.54 seconds) and freshman Katie Bouffard (Essex Jct., Vt.) in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:19.17). Bouffard also placed second in the 50 breast (36.96), senior Scarlette Scarborough (Salem, N.H.) was runner-up in the 100 yard butterfly (1:08.26), freshman Rachel Hersey (Newburyport, Mass.) finished second in the 50 yard freestyle (27.56 seconds), and freshman Cait Anton (Woolwich, Maine) placed second in both the 500 yard free (5:45.47) and the 200 yard individual medley (2:26.74).
PSU is home again next Saturday for a dual meet against Bridgewater State (1:00 p.m.).
