PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman Kathy Frankowski (Unionville, Conn.) recorded a double-double Tuesday evening with team-highs of 13 kills and 12 digs, leading the Plymouth State University women’s volleyball team to a three-game sweep (30-25, 30-25, 30-24) of Colby-Sawyer College at Foley Gymnasium.
PSU jumped out to the lead in each game and never let the Chargers get it back. The Panthers improve to 5-0 on the season, while CSC is now 3-3 overall.
Other strong contributors for Plymouth State included freshman setter Brianna Kleckner (Terryville, Conn.), who had 30 assists, six kills, four digs and two blocks; freshman Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I.), who added six kills and a team-high three service aces; and sophomore Sarah Spears (Meredith, N.H.), who finished with 11 digs.
The Chargers were led by sophomore Kristen Romanko (Mansfield, Mass.), who had 11 kills, and senior Suzie Kaegi (Sunapee, N.H.) and freshman Megan White (Monroe, Conn.), who added seven kills apiece. Sophomore Taylor Forsberg (Moultonborough, N.H.) chipped in with a team-high 11 digs.
PSU opens Little East Conference play this Saturday with an LEC Round Robin at Rhode Island College, beginning at 12 p.m. Colby-Sawyer returns home to host Rivier on Thursday (7:00 p.m.)
