PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the seniors on the Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team was honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference Wednesday with a top regional weekly honor.
Senior midfielder Meg Cupoli (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin) was named the New England Division III Co-Player of the Week by the ECAC. She was also named Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
A senior midfielder, Cupoli recorded 16 points in three games on 12 goals and four assists, leading PSU to a 2-1 record (2-0 in LEC games). She scored two goals Tuesday in a 12-8 loss at nationally-ranked Colby; matched her career-high with four goals and one assist Friday in a 12-2 LEC win at Keene State; and notched career-highs with six goals and nine points in Saturday’s 19-6 conference victory at Rhode Island College. She also collected eight ground balls, nine draw controls and six caused turnovers for the week, including four ground balls and six draw controls in the win at RIC.
Cupoli leads the LEC in assists (1.5 per game) and ranks among the top 10 in goals (2.2 per game) and points (3.7 per game).
Cupoli shared this week’s honor with Norwich freshman Allison Daniels (Concord, N.H.), who recorded 14 goals and six assists as the Cadets went 3-0 and was named NEWLA Player of the Week.
