COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Plymouth State University wrestling team registered one victory in four matches Saturday afternoon at the North-South Duals, hosted by Ursinus College.
PSU was defeated by McDaniel (Md.), 27-21, and Oneonta State (N.Y.), 33-10, before recording a victory over Washington & Jefferson (Pa.), 44-10. The Panthers wrapped up the day with a 40-6 setback to York College (Pa.)
Seniors Dan Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) and Nate Kittredge (Vergennes, Vt.) led the Panthers with three victories apiece. Moskowitz picked up two pins and a forfeit at 157 pounds but lost a 5-0 decision to Dustin Winn of Oneonta, while Kittredge earned three wins at 184 pounds with a decision, a pin and a forfeit while dropping a 7-1 loss to Duane Bastress of York. Moskowitz is now 10-5 on the season and Kittredge is 14-4, which leads the team in victories.
Junior Dean Miller (Long Valley, N.J.) and senior Kyle Pietrowski (Eliot, Maine) each posted two wins in three matches for PSU, Miller at 165 pounds and Pietrowski at 197. Six Panthers collected one win apiece – sophomore Matt Friend (Jefferson, N.H.) at 133, senior Chris Bordonaro (Derry, N.H.) at 141, freshman Ryan Schieding (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) at 149, sophomore Brandon Black (Keene, N.H.) at 165, junior Billy Wilbert (Toms River, N.J.) at 285, and freshman Shaun Wilbert (Toms River, N.J.) at 285.
PSU, 2-6 in dual matches, will remain in Pennsylvania and compete Wednesday against King’s College and Gettysburg College, hosted by King’s in Wilkes-Barre.
