Moseley then earned a 13-7 decision over #6-seed Dan MacBlane of Oneonta State before falling in the title bout to top-seeded Julian Nicholas of RIT, 12-6.
PSU junior Matt Friend (Jefferson, N.H.) also had a solid performance in the 133-pound bracket, placing fourth and collecting wins in four of his six matches. After an opening-round win, he lost his second-round match but rebounded with three straight victories in the backdraw before losing in the 3rd/4th-place battle.
Freshman Zeth Nolda (East Lyme, Conn./Waterford) at 149 and sophomore Shaun Wilbert (Toms River, N.J.) at 197 were PSU’s other place-winners, each placing sixth in their weight class. Nolda won his first two matches, including a defeat over the #5 seed, before suffering his first loss to the #4 seed. He came back with two more wins before a setback to the #2 seed and a loss in the 5th/6th-place match. Wilbert won his first two matches before suffering three consecutive losses, including decisions to the #6 and #4 seeds.
Freshman B.J. Allen (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton) at 141 pounds, senior Nick Gurney (Dixfield, Maine) at 184, and freshman Tom Pacelli (Madison, Conn.) at 197 each finished 2-2 in their weight class, with both of their losses coming to seeded wrestlers.
