PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The rain hitting New England over Easter weekend has altered the athletic schedules at Plymouth State College.
The Panther baseball team played only one inning of Friday’s non-conference contest at Panther Field against Saint Joseph’s College. The rain and wet field forced the umpires
to call the game, which will not be rescheduled. The Little East Conference baseball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at Panther Field against Western Connecticut has been
postponed, with no make-up date announced.
The PSC men’s tennis squad was slated to play a dual match at Rhode Island College Saturday (4/22), but that has been cancelled. After dual matches at home Tuesday (4/25)
against Endicott and Thursday (4/27) vs. Lyndon State, the Panthers will wrap up the 2000 season next Saturday (4/29) in the conclusion of the Little East Conference Tournament at
UMass Dartmouth. Because of the tournament, which began on Apr. 15-16 before being suspended, PSC’s dual match at UMD on Apr. 30th will not be played.
The status of PSC’s Little East Conference home softball doubleheader against Rhode Island College and the Pilgrim League men’s lacrosse game at UMass Boston, both
scheduled for Saturday (4/22), are in limbo. A decision of those games will be made Saturday morning. The Panther women’s lacrosse team is not scheduled to play.
UPDATE (4/22/00) — The softball doubleheader (RIC at PSC) and the men’s lacrosse game (PSC at UMB) were also postponed. Since the baseball, softball and men’s
lacrosse games were all league contests, every attempt is being made to reschedule them, although no dates have been announced.
