Plymouth State College hosted a Regional Cooperation Forum for the leadership of area towns on June 22, to discuss ways that they might share resources and challenges by working collaboratively.
Town managers and selectmen joined President Don Wharton and Littleton Town Manager Don Jutton for discussion regarding several areas for possible cooperation. They included general management and finance and accounting support services, police and public safety management and coordination, facilities planning and management, and public works equipment cooperative.
Discussion for the second part of the meeting explored ways that PSC might assist towns in their cooperative ventures. Areas discussed included grant writing, internships for students, applied research and data analysis, specialized training, tourism research, community planning and GIS.
Towns represented included Ashland, Bristol, Gilford, Holderness, New Hampton, Plymouth, Rumney, Thornton, and Littleton.
