Dan Perkins, Professor of Music, and the Ruggieri Chamber Soloists will perform a special Valentine’s Day recital at Silver Cultural Arts Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004.
The recital, entitled In a Romantic Mood, features a program of 19th chamber music. The program includes a composite trio with the movements from works by Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms. Dramatic readings of the personal correspondence of this famous love triangle will connect and enhance their passionate music. Readings will be done by Plymouth State theatre majors Sarah Comtois and Chris Lukos. The second half of the program features the Piano Trio in D minor, op. 32, by Russian composer Anton Aresky.
The Ruggieri Chamber Soloists formed in 1988 (as the Miranda Chamber Players) and have performed throughout New England. In addition to Dr. Perkins on piano, the members of the Ruggieri Chamber Soloists include John Lindsey, violin, and Linda Galvan, cello.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for children and PSU ID holders. For more information, contact the Silver Cultural Arts Center Box Office at 535-ARTS. Box office hours are Monday to Friday, noon to 6 p.m.
