The Silver Center lobby will be filled with dancers, and actors from the recent student production of A Midsummer Nights Dream Dec. 9–all ready to welcome you to Silver Revels 2007 at Plymouth State University.
Enrich your holiday entertainment with an elegant evening of choral music, big-band sounds, an extravagant dessert buffet, a boisterous sparkling toast and dancing, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Silver Center on Main Street in downtown Plymouth.
The successor to the long-famous Silver Swings, “Silver Revels presents a charming flair, a bigger audience and a lower ticket price,” said Director Dan Perkins.
Patrons will mark the beginning of the celebration with a boisterous sparkling welcome wassail in Revel fashion, followed at 7 p.m. by a choral concert in Hanaway Theatre.
The combined PSU choirs will present A Testament to Peace, featuring works by Vermont composer Gwyneth Walker, and highlights from the Chamber Singers’ upcoming January tour to Vietnam.
An elegant entre’acte dessert buffet of scrumptious goodies at 8 p.m. precedes dancing to the big band sounds of the PSU Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Tim Robinson. A cash bar will be available.
All tickets are $30 at the Silver Center Box Office, (603) 535-ARTS. The number of tickets is limited and advance reservation is required. The Box Office will be closed from Nov. 21 – 25, reopening at noon Monday, Nov. 26.
Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for the University’s Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
