Revels Gives Longtime Silver Swings Event New Flair

Enrich your holiday entertainment with an elegant evening of choral music, big-band sounds, an extravagant dessert buffet, a sparkling toast and dancing at Silver Revels, Dec. 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Silver Center on Main Street in downtown Plymouth.

“Longtime patrons won’t be disappointed. Silver Revels maintains much of the flavor of Silver Swings, but with a new flair, a bigger audience, and a lower ticket price,” said Director Dan Perkins.

Patrons will mark the beginning of the celebration with a boisterous sparkling welcome wassail in Revel fashion, complete with trumpet fanfare, jesters and magicians at 6:30 p.m. , followed at 7 p.m. by a choral concert in Hanaway Theatre. The PSU Chamber Singers and Chorale, with orchestra accompaniment, will perform seasonal favorites plus works for choir and chamber orchestra by Puccini and Rutter.

An elegant and extravagant entr’acte dessert buffet of scrumptious goodies at 8 p.m. precedes dancing to the big band sounds of the PSU Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Scott Grant. A cash bar will be available.

All tickets are $30 at the Silver Center Box Office, (603) 535-ARTS. The number of tickets is limited and advance reservation is required. The Box Office will be closed from Nov. 22–26, reopening at noon Monday, Nov. 27. Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for the University’s Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
