Student Ambassador from Wales Speaks about Experiences in the Film Industry in the UK

Plymouth, N.H.–Maggie Parkes, a Ph.D. candidate in film and media at Bangor University in Wales, UK, will talk about her experiences in the film industry in the United Kingdom at 5:15 p.m. Monday, April 18 in Hyde Hall Room 129 on the Plymouth State Campus.

Parkes, who is from Pennsylvania, worked on the sets of Twilight and Captain America. Her degree focuses on the adaptation of popular fantasy films such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Narnia and Twilight films. She is Head of Development for Elfin Productions and an international student ambassador for Bangor University. Parkes comes to the United States several times a year to offer presentations and talk with students and counselors about her experiences abroad, and opportunities within the UK school system.

The Department of Communication and Media Studies will host Parke’s visit to Plymouth State University. The presentation is open to the public, free of charge.
