PLYMOUTH, N.H. — Alumni, students and community members are invited to “follow the yellow brick road” to Homecoming ’00 — There’s No Place Like Home — at Plymouth State College, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 20-22. Guests will experience a variety of events steeped in tradition and camaraderie during the three-day event which includes a Main Street parade, the annual John C. Foley 5K fun run, banners, picnics, a presidential dialogue, the traditional Alumni Afterglow, comedian Jim Breuer, the 20th annual Dearborn Golf Classic and an array of athletic events, both student and alumni.

Saturday at 12:01 a.m. is the first date NCAA basketball teams can take the floor, and PSC has planned many special Midnight Madness events and competitions around that timeframe, beginning at 11:45 p.m. Friday.

The traditional Homecoming Parade on Saturday, featuring student-created floats and the award-winning N.H. State Police bagpipe ensemble, will wind its way across Langdon Street, to Highland Street, Main Street, and Holderness Road, before terminating at the College’s Facilities Services Building across from D&M Park. Also participating in the parade will be representatives of the N.H. National Guard, area Girl Scouts, the Pemiquaney Riding Club, the Rumney Rough Riders, the Plymouth Lions Club and a Marine Corps detachment. Step-off for the parade is

11 a.m. behind Hyde Hall. The bagpipers will also performing during half-time of the PSC vs. Bentley College football matchup, when the Homecoming Court and the recipient of the James J. Hogan Award for support of athletics are recognized.

An alumni hospitality and registration tent will be open behind the field house from 9 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Saturday. A free shuttle service will make a continuous loop from the P.E. Center parking area through the main campus from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Alcohol is prohibited on campus property, except as provided by PSC for designated programs. Participants may not bring alcohol to events on campus, and tailgating is not allowed. The Homecoming Committee also requests that pets not be brought to Homecoming activities.
