This Summer Course is All Wet

The following non-credit summer course is being offered by the Office of Continuing Education at Plymouth State College. Please contact the Continuing Education office, 535-2428 for registration information.

Water Aerobics: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 19 – July 26, (no classes July 3 and 5), noon – 1 p.m., $60 plus $5 registration fee, Instructor: Wendy Burnham.

Water Aerobics provides the same training benefits as low impact floor aerobics. Your heart and lungs will get as good a workout with less wear and tear on your body. Water that is waist to chest deep supports about 50-75 percent of your body weight, so water aerobics is much more gentle on your joints and muscles.

The class will include a warm-up, aerobics, and deep-water exercises using noodles, kick boards, and the natural resistance of the water, as well as general strengthening exercises. You do no need to be a swimmer to take
this class. A lifeguard will be on duty. Water Aerobics is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. (Participants are required to complete a health information form before starting classes.)
