NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Chris Lapriore and sophomore Devon Majorano combined for 48 points Saturday afternoon, leading the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to an 81-76 victory over Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference men’s basketball game at the Tripp Athletic Center.
Lapriore finished with 25 points and eight rebounds and Majorano added 23 points as the Corsairs upped their record to 10-8 overall and 3-5 in the LEC. Neither Lapriore or Majorano played when PSU defeated UMD in December, 87-70. The Panthers maintain a share of second place in the LEC despite falling to 15-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
In addition to Lapriore and Majorano, the Corsairs got 13 points from Joseph Britto and 12 from Paul Pawlowski. The Corsairs pulled out the win despite being dominated on the boards, 43-26.
Junior Anthony Oglesby (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Panther offensive effort, scoring 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Junior Nick Pelotte (Bingham, Maine) finished with 16 points and four steals, freshman Andreas Pope (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 13 points and a game-high 11 boards, and senior Ryan Chicoine (Gorham, Maine) added 12 points and six boards.
PSU takes a break from LEC play on Thursday with a non-conference match-up at Bridgewater State (7:00 p.m.).
