POULTNEY, Vt. – Undefeated Green Mountain College needed a goal with nine minutes remaining Monday afternoon to pull out a 1-0 victory over Plymouth State
College in a non-conference women’s soccer match.
The victory improves the Spartans to 13-0 on the season, while Plymouth State drops to 6-5-1 overall.
The only goal of the game came in the 81st minute, as Jessica Addison scored with an assist from Erin Monahan.
PSC junior keeper Becky Kennedy (West Springfield, Mass.) made a season-high 13 saves in the contest. Green Mountain’s Sarah Allen stopped four shots, just
the third time PSC has been blanked this season.
The schedule gets no easier for the Panthers, who return home to host Bowdoin Wednesday afternoon (4 p.m.) at Panther Field. Bowdoin is 8-1-1 and took over
the top spot in this week’s New England Division III poll.
