P.S.C. eliminates Salve Regina from ECAC New England Women’s Lacrosse Tourney
Top-seeded Panthers to host semifinals and title game this weekend
Sophomore Katie Sheridan and senior Robin Hartman combined for 11 goals and seven assists Wednesday afternoon, leading top-seeded Plymouth State College past eighth-seeded Salve Regina University in the opening round of the ECAC Division III New England Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
The victory gave PSC the right to host this weekend’s semifinals and championship game at Arold Field. The Panthers, now 14-2 overall, will meet fourth-seeded Bridgewater State College (11-6) Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Bears advanced with a 12-11 decision Wednesday over Babson College.
Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. semifinal will have third-seeded Wheaton College (10-7) facing second-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University (13-4). Wheaton advanced with a 15-13 verdict over sixth-seeded Gordon College and ECSU moved on with a 17-5 defeat of seventh-seeded University of New England.
The two semifinals winners will meet for the ECAC New England title Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Arold Field.
There is no charge for admission to these championship games.
