PLYMOUTH, N.H.. – Junior Sara Wormwood (Rutland, VT) was named to the Little East Conference Honorable Mention Team after yet another successful season.
The big-hitting first baseman was a bright spot for Plymouth State as the team finished the season with an 11-26 record. Wormwood led the Panthers in runs scored (25), home
runs (7), RBI (22), and total bases (61) while hitting at a .327 clip. She was also tops on the team with a .604 slugging percentage. Her seven home runs were good enough for second
in the LEC.
Wormwood has certainly put her mark on the Plymouth State softball program. With still one more year of eligibility remaining, the Mark McGwire of PSC already owns all of
Plymouth’s home run records. Wormwood is on top of the charts for home runs in a game (2), home runs in a season (7) and home runs in a career (11).
Last season Wormwood was named to the All-Northeast Region Third Team, and she also earned All-LEC Honorable Mention in 1997.
