Scholarships for Women

Many different types of scholarships are available to minorities and women. These scholarships can be used as a supplement to financial aid or to assist students who are not eligible for federal or state financial aid.  Scholarships are offered through many groups, including charitable organizations, corporations, institutions, advocacy groups, government and professional associations. Icing on the Ring Triumph Over Breast Cancer Scholarship

Like so many in the community, we at Icing On The Ring have witnessed the devastating effects of breast cancer and its ability to completely overturn a life. That is especially true when an individual is working hard to put themselves through school. Although all college students face difficult obstacles, we believe that a disease like cancer should not be allowed to derail an aspiring student’s dream. Our intention is to offset the financial burden to a student who is continuing to study despite their encounter with breast cancer.

New Hampshire Electric Co-op is honoring the legacy of NHEC President/CEO Fred Anderson’s wife Kathy with the Kathy Anderson Scholarship, which will be awarded to one non-traditional female adult learner who seeks to better her life through education.

Keating Dental Arts National Scholarship Program

Keating Dental Arts is proud to contribute to the ABWA scholarship fund and supports the organization in their mission to help women achieve success in the workplace. Margaret  McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF)

Since 1981 the Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF), a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, public charity, has awarded scholarships to outstanding women from developing countries, who are completing degrees at US/Canadian universities and are committed to improving the wellbeing of women and children in developing countries.

Eligibility: Must be a woman,  enrolled at an accredited U.S. or Canadian educational institution, be a national of a lower or or middle income country , demonstrate financial need,  be at least 25 years of age, and other criteria  as outlined by WBFN

Single Mother Scholarship

Rosenfeld Injury Lawyers believes in the empowerment of single mothers through education. Education has the power to open doors for single mothers and even their children. Soccorloco’s National Scholarship Program

Soccerloco has partnered with the American Business Women’s Association to launch a national scholarship fund and is holding an essay contest to determine the most qualified candidate.  The winner of the contest will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship through the ABWA Scholarship Fund. To enter the scholarship competition you must submit your 500-700 word essay on how your athletic career has helped you to become a better teammate, leader and person.

Talbot’s Women’s Scholarship Fund

In keeping with its long-standing tradition of helping women succeed, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to present the Talbots Scholarship Foundation and the inaugural Nancy Talbot Scholarship Award for perseverance and ingenuity, which is presented in memory of the founder of Talbots. This program empowers women to enrich themselves through learning and achieve a college education later in life.

Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program

Vanguard, headquartered in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, is one of the world’s largest investment management companies and a leading provider of employer-sponsored retirement plans. The Vanguard Minority Scholarship Program provides merit-based scholarships of up to $10,000 to students entering their junior or senior year of college during the 2012 school year. The program’s goal is to remove financial barriers for minority students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential.

Velma Smith Dalphond Memorial Scholarship
