Classic New England Setting
Plymouth State University has been recognized as one of the “Best in the Northeast” by The Princeton Review. Our location in the scenic heart of the Lakes and White Mountain regions of New Hampshire provides our faculty, staff, and students with a beautiful setting to work, study, and live.
Faculty and staff, as well as students, come to Plymouth State for its caring academic community and friendly campus, the Main Street New England setting, and easy access to New Hampshire’s great outdoors.
With the White Mountains to the north, the Lakes Region to the south, and the Pemigewasset River bordering the town to the east, Plymouth, N.H., is surrounded by some of the country’s most beautiful and accessible natural landscapes. Ski destinations such as Cannon, Loon, and Waterville Valley are within 25 miles of the campus, as are the lakes: Big and Little Squam, Winnipesaukee, and Newfound.
Our surroundings also inspire a strong institutional commitment to sustainability. Green is more than PSU’s school color; it is also a way of thinking and working all across campus.
PSU sits just above Main Street in Plymouth, which offers shopping, restaurants, and a recently renovated theater that brings in national music acts. Plymouth is less than two hours’ drive from Boston on Interstate 93. Two hours to the east is Portland, ME; two hours northwest is Burlington, VT; and Montreal is just three and a half hours northwest.
