What is available in the surplus inventory at this time?

What are the procedures for requesting a donation of surplus computer technology for a non-profit organization?
Please email the Repair Center/Surplus staff for more information at computer-surplus@plymouth.edu

How can I request a specific surplus item?
Customers can request a specific model but not a specific service tag or serial number, by completing the PSU Surplus request form.

Am I guaranteed a computer once a request is made?
Filling your request is based on our available surplus inventory, therefore submitting a request does not guarantee you a computer. We will contact you regarding your request and our ability to fulfill it.

Can I purchase more than one computer?
Presently we are limiting laptop purchases to one per customer, and desktop purchases to two per customer, per academic year.

Can I physically inspect the surplus model prior to purchase?
We do have common surplus models on display for viewing at the Computer Repair Center, in Highland Hall room 011.

Will a computer purchased from surplus have an operating system installed on it?
Yes, we will install the OS that was first shipped with the item, and we will provide a copy of the media and drivers along with the machine.

If a computer is marked for donation, will it have an operating system installed on it?
No, but we do provide OS and drivers media for donated equipment, one copy per computer model is included with the machine.

Are there upgrades available to computers?
Depending upon the specific model of the system, memory and hard drive upgrades may be possible, but the Repair Center may not have the items in stock. Please consult with the Repair Center staff for further detail and pricing. PSU employees may request that we order these items, and non-PSU employees will need to order them independently.

Methods of payment for equipment
Payment is made at the Computer Repair Center by Visa, MasterCard or check made out to Plymouth State University. No cash transactions are accepted at this time. Transactions in amounts less than $10 must be paid by check only.
