Biography
Hannah joined the Counseling Center at the beginning of the 2021 fall semester. She has experience working in community mental health and day treatment facilities. Hannah has experience as an individual and group counselor. She created and facilitated the first Creative Arts therapy group at the community mental health center in Concord, NH.
Counseling Approach and Areas of Specialization
Hannah has particular interest in group therapy. She believes that personal growth is often attained when moments of self-discovery are explored and shared with peers. When working with clients individually, Hannah believes in a client centered approach. She believes the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between counselor and client. In her therapy, she is eclectic and utilizes strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. She is trained in creative arts therapy and believes in the power of expressing thoughts and feelings non-verbally. Hannah has experience working with diverse populations including people of color and people of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Interests
Hannah enjoys adventuring with loved ones and caring for her various animals. She enjoys trail running and hiking. She has recently learned to weld and has enjoyed the artistic freedom that comes with a welding torch. She paints, builds sculptures with nature materials, and generally likes to get messy within the natural world. She plays Dungeons and Dragons, participates in two book clubs, and she enjoys cooking.
