Air Force Crossroads

Commissaries are an integral part of the quality of life offered to service members and their families. The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. It is the intent of the program that a “Defense Commissary Agency/Fisher House Foundation Scholar” scholarship funded through contributions will be awarded annually for each commissary (where practical) operated by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) worldwide.

American Legion

The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.

Army National Guard

Is the school you want a little out of reach? Are those student loans weighing you down? The Guard offers a student living stipend, loan repayment, and, in conjunction with certain states, 100% free tuition. Prices don’t get much lower than “free.”

Google SVA Scholarship

Student Veterans of America and Google are proud to announce the opening of this year’s Computer Science scholarship application.  Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend Google’s 2014 Summer Annual Scholars’ Retreat. The Scholars’ Retreat provides an important networking opportunity for top students from all over the United States and Canada to meet with each other and with Google engineers in a personable, fun environment.

Hammer Family Scholarship

Our San Francisco military hotel is dedicated as a “living memorial” to the U.S. Marines who served in the Pacific during World War II. A landmark in San Francisco’s iconic Union Square since 1946, Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel is located close to a bustling theater district in the heart of the city.

Liljegren Law Group Military Family Scholarship

At the Liljegren Law Group, we understand how important the military is to our way of life. Founding attorney Scott Liljegren began his legal career in the Navy’s JAG Corps and developed a close personal connection with the people he worked with. To say thank you, the Liljegren Law Group has created the Military Family Scholarship to help our servicemen and women and their families who are continuing their education.

Major General James Ursano Scholarship Fund

MG James Ursano Scholarship Fund administered by the Army Emergency Relief (AER) was established in 1976 as a secondary mission to help Army families with the costs of post-secondary undergraduate level education, vocational training, and preparation for acceptance by military service academies for their independent children.

Eligibility: Dependent child, stepchild or legally adopted child of an Army soldier, registered in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS), unmarried for the entire academic year, under the age of 23, cumulative 2.0 GPA

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation  is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation strongly supported nationally by volunteers. The foundation provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of current or former United States Marines in their pursuit of higher education.

Eligibility: son/daughter of a former/current Marine, minimum 2.0 GPA, family adjusted gross income is less than $91,000

Marines’ Memorial Association Scholarships

Increase your opportunity for education by applying for a Marine Memorial Scholarship. Posted each January and due in April, these Marine scholarship applications are available to active members of the Marines Memorial Association as well as dependents and grandchildren of an active member. Marines scholarships are offered in different categories, ranging from awards for those pursuing degrees in the health care field to those pursuing degrees in Engineering or Math.

Military College Scholarship presents a semiannual $1,250 college scholarship to a deserving military student. The money will come in two increments during the fall and winter semesters of each year.

Military Commanders’ Scholarship Fund

The New York Chapter of the American Logistics Association (ALA) has established a scholarship program to assist children of select active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired members of the United States military who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

Eligibility: Dependent child of active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired members of the United States military, HS senior or graduate who plans to enroll for the first time in a full time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, have a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA

The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society’s (NMCRS) education programs is to assist eligible Sailors, Marines, and families pursue their academic goals by providing a source of education financing.  Both scholarships and no-interest loan programs are available.

Post-9/11 GI Bill: Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship

Public Law 111-32, the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, amends the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) to include the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001.

Student Veterans of America

Sure the GI Bill is a generous benefit but sometimes it doesn’t cover everything. That’s why we’ve partnered with Google, Raytheon, and MUFG Union Bank, N.A. to provide nearly $170,000 in scholarship support.
