PSU Ascent Program Expands College Access
Plymouth State is excited to offer a program designed to increase access and provide an opportunity for students who may not be given a chance at a four-year college or university by traditional standards. We call this program Ascent. From our application pool, the Admissions team selects students who would normally be referred to a community college but show strong promise. If admitted to Plymouth State through the Ascent program, they will be provided expanded academic support. Our belief is that access to higher education in an environment that is structured and provides the reinforcements that these students need fits our mission as a university. We are aware of the value of a bachelor’s degree when it comes to future job opportunities and lifetime earning potential, and this is our way of opening those doors for more students.
Accelerated High School Program
Plymouth State University (PSU) offers an opportunity for high school students to expand their coursework by challenging themselves at the collegiate level. This opportunity is not meant to replace a high school curriculum or program but allows students to deepen their educational experience.
School Counselors are welcome at all our campus events!

We suggest that prospective student-athletes complete all of the following steps!
- Complete the recruit me form. This will send the students information to the coach of the respective sport.
- After filling out the form, send an email directly to the head coach. This will get the student more on their radar and facilitate easier conversations. Their information can be found on their team’s page here.
- Attend the Atheltic Open House offered in December. Sign up can be found here.
