Provides the knowledge needed to handle medical emergencies requiring extended care in remote backcountry settings. Emphasis is in prevention, decision-making and treatment. Those who successfully complete the course and pass the exam will receive a certificate good for three years. This course is taught using a combination of lecture, scenarios and rescue simulations. Cost includes lodging for the first eight people who register. CPR is offered separately on the first night of the course. Call for more details.
