What to Wear? What to Bring?

Here are a few tips on how to dress in order to get the most out of your Outdoor Center experience. Most activities take place outdoors in open fields. Thus, anticipating the weather and dressing appropriately is your key to comfort since you may encounter strong sun, rain, shade or wind.

clearIn hot weather, the formula is simple:

  • A T-shirt and shorts or long pants make up the basics.
(If you are not sure which you will prefer, bring both).
  • Sneaker or lightweight boots are required footwear.
    (No open-toed shoes are allowed)
  • Rain gear is absolutely essential, the weather can change quickly and you don’t want to get caught in the rain!

mcThe key to cool and cold weather is a combination of the following:

  • Wear Layers! This will allow you to adjust what you are wearing as your temperature changes throughout the day.
  • A hat and gloves.
  • Closed-toed shoes are required. In the wet weather waterproof boots make all the difference.
  • Again, rain gear is essential!

Here’s a tip: Wool and fleece are superb insulation materials, they will keep you warm even if soaking wet. These and other synthetic materials will dry quickly unlike cotton which becomes absolutely useless when damp and takes ages to dry. So if you anticipate wet/cold weather (or even being sweaty), wear synthetics!
