2016 All New England Jazz Festival

About the Festival

The All New England Jazz Festival is a one day festival bringing the top high school jazz musicians in all six New England states together to rehearse and perform with top jazz musicians from throughout the United States. Past clinicians have included Randy Brecker, Graham Breedlove, Jeff Holmes, Marvin Stamm, and Chris Vadala.

High School musicians (grades 10-12) recommended by their high school band director are eligible.


The cost for each high school participant is $30.00. This registration fee is payable at the time of the notification of selection and acceptance by the student. There is no registration fee for participating directors.

For the Direcotrs

There is no cost for directors of students accepted to the festival. Each director is invited to observe rehearsals, attend the concert, and attend the Directors Clinic. This clinic is given by PSU faculty or guest artists and is geared towards helping directors better their own jazz ensemble.

Jazz Festival Time Line

  • January 22, 2016: Jazz Festival Applications are due.
  • February 5, 2016: Letters mailed to Directors: notification of student's acceptance.
  • February 19, 2016: Acceptances of invitations are due. Music and rehearsal instructions will be mailed immediately upon receipt of student acceptance form.
