Ut Prosim (Latin for “That I May Serve”) was adopted and embraced as Plymouth State University’s motto in 1939. This exhibition offers a powerful conceptual framework, highlighting how diverse disciplines intersect through the act of giving back and societal contributions. In congruence with art, Ut Prosim will exhibit photographs and historical pieces representing various acts of service.
Avenues of service that will be represented are:
-Emergency Responders and Disaster Relief
-Botany & Environmental Conservation
-Socially-Engaged Public Art
-Public Health and Medicine
-Engineering & Infrastructure Problems
-Community Archiving & the Humanities
-Local Government
-Agriculture & Food Security
-Education & Youth Mentorship
We invite Plymouth State students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members or any artistic background to submit their work. Examples of submissions can be abstract or realistic representations of local flora or scientific samples of soil and other minerals, community activism focused art, celebrating the dedication of healthcare workers, pieces exploring the relationship between the land, or blueprints of public infrastructure.
