People who experience sexual misconduct or relationship violence may experience a range of emotions and effects. Sometimes individuals experience changes with sleeping, eating, and self-care. They may experience challenges with school, work, or social activities. Talking with someone- whether a friend, family member, or confidential resource such as Voices Against Violence or the PSU Counseling may be helpful.
Confidential Resources
Voices Against Violence provides free, confidential advocacy services for people who have experienced sexual assault, stalking, relationship violence, and sexual exploitation. They provide a range of services including safety planning, legal advocacy, medical accompaniment, support with reporting to police and/or to the university.
Voices Against Violence advocates often come to campus to support students who report to the Title IX office. They serve as PSU’s designated confidential resource advisor, meaning they can guide students about their options and are not obligated to report to the University.

PSU Title IX Office
Members of the PSU community who have concerns about sexual misconduct- including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual exploitations, or sexual harassment is encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator.
The Title IX Office is located in Frost House and can be reached at 603.535.2172. Individuals can report incidents via online reporting form.

Plymouth Police Department
The Plymouth Police Department is available 24/7 to receive reports of sexual misconduct or relationship violence. Individuals can have an advocate from Voices Against Violence with them when reporting to law enforcement if they choose. Contact Plymouth Police Department at 603.536.1804.
Medical care
Individuals may wish to seek medical attention. Prompt medical exams allow for treatment of injury, testing for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, and post-exposure treatment for HIV.
A sexual assault forensic exam can secure evidence that could be used if an individual later decides to report to law enforcement. Physical evidence may exist up to five (5) days, or longer, after a sexual assault. The local hospital has specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) to conduct forensic exams. Individuals can have a SANE exam completed anonymously. If an individual later decides to report to law enforcement, the NH Attorney General’s Victim Compensation Program can provide coverage for the cost of the exam.
