Extending Ecology: Making Meaning with the White Mountains

Exhibition Dates: October 7 – December 15, 2023

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 7, 2023, 4:00p-7:00p

This opening will begin with a performance by Walking Backwards, a company dedicated to improvising with other art forms and environments at 4:00pm followed by a reception with collaborators Rita Leduc and Rich Blundell at 5:00pm.

This exhibition features multimedia interpretations and visual artwork made through an ongoing Oika collaboration between ecologist and cultural communicator, Dr. Rich Blundell, artist Rita Leduc, and the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. By presenting an overview of their two-year long collaboration, the exhibition underlines how deep, intimate engagement with the natural science and creativity of a place can offer and extend insights into more ecological ways of being in the world.
