BIOGRAPHY:
Beth was previously a student at PSU and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees here. Beth has experience working in private practice and community mental health.
COUNSELING APPROACH AND AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION
Beth’s treatment approach is Eclectic and includes solution-focused, psychodynamic, client centered and cognitive behavioral therapies from a strength-based perspective. In her work with individuals, she often utilizes mindfulness and meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for the treatment of PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her approach to therapy is direct, compassionate and collaborative, recognizing that the therapist and individual work together with a shared vision of the individual’s needs and goals and changes needed to meet those goals.
Beth has experience working with diverse populations including people of color and people of the LGBTQIA+ community.
INTERESTS
Beth enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, swimming, reading, playing cards and board games, meditating, camping and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
