Dr. Julie Cote joined the PSU Nursing Program faculty in 2020. Since joining PSU, Dr. Cote has taught Maternal Newborn Nursing, Global Population Health, Foundations of Professional Nursing, NCLEX Success, Research and Evidence-Based Practice, as well as Tackling a Wicked Problem.  She has special interests in the social determinants of health, human trafficking, and healthcare safety.  She describes herself as immensely passionate about supporting nursing student success. 

Dr. Cote is the chair of the PSU Nursing Program curriculum committee, serves as an ATI Champion, and has served on various committees across the university.  

Prior to accepting her current position, Dr. Cote gained several years of experience as a nurse educator and director in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She has 30 years of nursing experience and has worked a nurse, manager, and director in a variety of acute care and community settings. Her extensive experience includes med-surg, obstetrics, pediatric ventilator care in the community, home health, hospice, school health, case management, and legal nurse consulting.  

Dr. Cote has an earned Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (2017), and Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in nursing education (2014).  She also has earned degrees outside of nursing, including a BA in Sociology (2001) and a Master of Business Administration (2020).   

When not at PSU, Dr. Cote can be most likely be found on a trail in the White Mountains with her German Shepherds.
