Julie Fagan
Julie has been involved with health and wellness of women, children, and communities for over 30 years. She graduated with a B.A. in 1985 from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, where the model of interdisciplinary and experiential education set the foundation for her hands-on approach to teaching and learning.
After working with vulnerable populations through social service and community outreach agencies, Julie pursued a nursing degree at the University of Vermont. She graduated with a BSN in 1993 and provided maternal and newborn care in the Birthing Center of a community hospital as a staff RN and Childbirth Educator. She also developed an outreach program providing perinatal education as a liaison between the hospital and local pre-natal providers. As her own two children reached school age, Julie transitioned to a position as School Nurse in Newbury, VT. Julie moved to central New Hampshire in 2010 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing Education degree from Norwich University in 2013, and a Doctor of Education degree from PSU in 2022. She has been teaching in the Nursing Department at PSU since 2012 as adjunct Clinical Faculty, Nursing Lab Coordinator, and now Associate Clinical Professor. Julie enjoys many outdoor activities including swimming, kayaking, tennis, and skiing.
